The Phive - Free Daily Sports Bets (9/12)

After five straight wins, we finally faced defeat as the Raptors fell to the Celtics in another epic contest between the two teams. We lose the series with the Raptors, too. It's a bummer, but as a Celtics fan, I can't complain all that much.

I only have one NCAA bet for today. One, because of the late start, but two, because even though it's opening Saturday of college football, it's not a full slate and I don't like much. No matter what, it's good to see it back in action.

Here's where we stand.

I'm going with an absolutely massive point spread, and I'm taking the favorites. Oklahoma kicks off their season with Spencer Rattler under center as he looks to be another explosive QB in a long line of explosive Oklahoma QBs. He's certainly not going to be tested against Missouri State who was blown out by some of the worst teams in college football last year. It's Week 1, and anything can happen, but I don't expect there to be any field goals in this game. So to get this under seven touchdowns feels like a steal.

BET: Oklahoma -48.5

West Coast Elimination Time

The Rockets face elimination tonight and will be doing so without Danuel House who was kicked out of the bubble for breaking the rules. We saw the Nuggets stave off elimination last night, and I like the Rockets to at least keep this one competitive as they try to do the same. The problem is, the Lakers are hitting their stride. In their last two games, they have thoroughly outplayed Houston and it has made for some less than exciting basketball in the fourth quarter. Therefore, I'm taking a first-half bet today, because I think Houston comes out plays this one inspired to at least give themselves a chance.

BET: Rockets 1H +3.5

I'm hitting 67% of MLB bets, but only place them every so often. Well today, I'm back to take a first five-inning over that will help you make some extra bankroll as you watch college football all day. The Tigers are taking on the White Sox and both teams have been scoring quite a bit this season. Neither team is putting their ace on the mound. The White Sox start Reynaldo Lopez and the Tigers start Michael Fulmer. On great offense, one good offense, and two meh pitchers sounds like a recipe for a lot of runs early.

BET: CWS/DET F5 over 5.5 runs

That's all for today. I won't be back with another edition until Monday considering all my NFL bets are already up there. As always, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @Phil_Wood_Jr.
