NFL Week 5 Bets
Welcome back to another week of NFL betting. This week is going to look a little bit different. If you follow my college football picks, then you already know about me teaming up with eZcZ Stat Network. This partnership means that my best bets for the week are now going to be monetized. Sorry! But it's really cheap and you're getting a great product. It's not just my picks, but also models and analytics provided by the eZcZ Stat Network. You'll also get a short video of me explaining my pick against the model. It's a lot, and it's relatively cheap compared to others in the field, though of course, nothing is as cheap as free.
If you want to check out the offerings for at least one week, click this link. If not, you'll still get six of my picks for this week. Five of my picks are being reserved for the weekend slate of paid picks, while my Thursday night pick is available as part of a weeknight package with the Louisville vs Georgia Tech game.
What this also means is that I won't be running through every game of the week, because if I give my take, then that defeats the purpose of the five best bets. So I'll just be going through games where I have a free play.
Here are my picks for the week.
Arizona Cardinals vs New York Jets
Full disclosure, the Cardinals are one of my moneyline picks for this week. If you have been following along, you know that I must do five ATS, four total, and four moneyline picks. This is the only big-favorite that I am 100 percent confident in. The Cardinals have lost back-to-back games after starting 2-0, and will now take on the worst team in the NFL. However, Sam, Darnold is out, which means Joe Flacco is getting the start. Will this be the spark the Jets need to get their season going? Simply put, no. The Jets are a really bad football team and have no defense at all. Even if Flacco is able to produce offensively, the defense isn't going to be able to stop the Cardinals' offense in this game. Arizona is frustrated right now. I would have taken this spread, but Flacco is a bit of an unknown which is always frightening. So I'll make this my one big favorite play of the week.
BET: Arizona Cardinals -335
Los Angeles Rams vs Washington Football Team
All offseason, fans of the Washington Football Team were excited to see Dwayne Haskins' growth. I didn't understand it. I didn't see much to be excited about last season. Now, after four weeks, it seems that Washington agrees with me. Kyle Allen will get the start on Sunday, and while this may concern some on the LA side of this game, I disagree. Allen isn't much of an unknown because of how much he played for the Panthers last season. While I think Antonio Gibson is going to have a field day in this game because of dump-offs, I do think the Rams are going to look the way they did in weeks 1 and 2 and take care of business against a reeling Football Team.
BET: Rams -7.5
Philadelphia Eagles vs Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers had their bye week last week, but it didn't really feel like a bye. I find this more concerning for their offense than their defense, and that is why I love the under in this game. The Steelers have one of the best defenses in football, and the Eagles' offensive line has been terrible. But I'm not sold on the Steelers' offense yet, and after this awkward bye week, I actually think the Eagles can win this game. I need to make four moneyline plays this week, so I'm going to take a shot with the Eagles as huge underdogs. But the main bet here is the under.
BET: Philadelphia Eagles +280
BET: PHI/PIT under 44
Carolina Panthers vs Atlanta Falcons
I'm expecting fireworks in this one after the Falcons failed to do anything productive offensively last week. The Panthers have actually been surprisingly good in their last two games, but that doesn't mean I think their defense can stop the Falcons. And the Falcons' defense can't stop anyone.
BET: CAR/ATL over 54.5
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans
This is my pick for the highest-scoring game of the week. The Texans have been itching to put points on the board, and will now take on a defense that has been downright bad over the last few weeks. Meanwhile, the Jaguars desperately want to get back to their form in the first two weeks. The Texans' defense is not good this season, and the Jags should be able to put up enough to help the Texans take this game over.
BET: JAC/HOU over 54
