The Phive - Free Daily Sports Bets (8/21)
We only had one bet today. But hey, if you're only going to place one, you might as well win it. Shane Bieber did exactly what I expected him to and held the Pirates scoreless for the first inning, which means the one run produced by Cleveland was enough to get us the win.
Below you will find just three bets. I had five to begin with, but now that the Yankees and Mets game is postponed due to COVID, I had to remove two Yankees' bets. Sorry, everyone. I tried to find you five bets. Three will have to do for today. I may have more for "On The Card" tomorrow morning depending on what I find.

Betting my favorite teams
For the first game, I'm actually going against my guys and taking Philadelphia over the Celtics. There is no doubt that the Celtics are the far superior team in this series, but this is essentially an elimination game for the 76ers. Teams don't come back from down 3-0, therefore they absolutely need to find a way to win this game. Even if they don't find a way to win, I like them to keep this one close because they simply don't have a choice. This is also the perfect spot for a let down for the Celtics who are up 2-0 and just blew this team away. Give me the points and the dog.
BET: 76ers +5
For the other, I'm going to neutrally bet the Flyers game and just pray they wrap it up here and don't make things too interesting with a game 7. Game 5 was incredibly high scoring, but for this one I'm taking the under. The truth is game 5 was bizarre. Montreal scored three minutes into the game, the Flyers had a five-minute power play where they scored two goals, Carter Hart gave up a goal on a shot that came from somewhere in a different rink. It just seems like this game is destined to be a return to normalcy. The Canadiens will play tough since it's an elimination game, but I don't expect this to be another back and forth contest like in game 5.
BET: PHI/MTL under 5 goals
One more bet against the trend!
Am I destined to go 0-3 today? Maybe, but I'm telling you Vegas sets these lines because they know the average bettor is just going to look at the box scores and determine what they like. The Nets have gotten off to unbelievably slow starts against the Raptors, but they need to win this game. They proved in game 2 that they can hang with the Raptors, and I think they're going to be desperate in this one and get off to a hot start before falling apart late. The first half spread is Raptors -6, and I like the Nets. But what I like even more, just in case the Raptors perform like they did in game 1, is the Nets over 52.5. Yes, they're going to be without Joe Harris, but this team needs to get out to a hot start or their season is over. They've shown life when we least expect it. While the 76ers can easily win their game, I don't think the Nets win, but I do think they come out firing to try to put Toronto on alert that they won't go quietly.
BET: Nets first half over 52.5 points
