The Phive - Free Daily Sports Bets (9/3)

The Avs have completed the comeback and now will look for a victory in Game 7 to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Colorado is a resilient bunch. When Grubauer went down, hope seemed lost, but they fought their way back from a 3-1 deficit and have kept hope alive for our expensive future bet on them. Unfortunately, their victory came in a low scoring game, and for the first time in the series, the total actually went under.

As for the Rockets and the Thunder, wow. That was an incredible game, but also so unbelievably frustrating. We were so close to getting bot of our series bets, which would have resulted in huge payouts, and Russell Westbrook played the entire fourth quarter with 20 points and just could not manage to put the ball in the basket.

In other news, the Bucks are in trouble. That wasn't a foul on Jimmy Butler, but with how many fouls went their way, it's disheartening to see them lose that game anyway. We also have the Raptors. Please, Toronto, find a way to win tomorrow.

Here's where we stand.

Finally going West

The NBA Eastern Conference second round has been long underway, but the Western Conference won't start until tomorrow due to two game 7's. The first of those series is going to be an absolute snooze fest.

The Clippers are going to kill the Nuggets. Jamal Murray made things exciting, but based on what I've seen from Denver, I personally think they're the eighth-best team left in the playoffs. They go long periods without scoring and their defense is suspect more often than not. Aside from Murray and Nikola Jokic, they don't get much offensive production, and while that was enough to get past the Jazz, I don't see how it will be enough to do anything against the Clippers. The Clippers took six games to knock off the Mavericks, but I don't think I'm alone in saying that the Mavs are a better team than the Nuggets, at least right now. Murray was great in the last series, but he won't cause the same problems for the Clippers that Luka Doncic did. Simply put, I don't like any of the matchups for Denver.

BET: Los Angeles Clippers (-910)

For the series prop, I'm going all-in on the Clippers. They're so much better than Denver right now, and I honestly don't believe that Denver even deserves to have made it this far. The Nuggets won't be able to score with them at all, which means I like the Clippers to be able to dominate them in every game. We saw what happened to Murray in Game 7 when the Jazz locked down defensively. Now, what happens when the other team's offense has multiple outs and can play defense across the board?

You get a sweep.

BET: Clippers 4-0 (+220)

Daily bets, please!

Fine. I'm going to stick with the Clippers and the Nuggets and I'm going to continue to go all-in on the Clippers. The Nuggets just got done with a 7-game slugfest against the Jazz, and I think they're going to be absolutely exhausted coming into this game. Meanwhile, the Clippers have had some time to get rest and are going to be quite relieved that they don't have to play against Luka again. Because of that, I think their defense is going to take advantage of a Nuggets offense that struggles to score even when they're not tired.

BET: Nuggets under 107.5

I realize I am riding the Clippers really hard right now, but it needs to be done in this game because of how much more exhausted the Nuggets are going to be than LA. Jamal Murray had nothing left in Game 7 and I can't see that being any different in this game. Give me the Clippers to cover a really big spread that I honestly would have taken up to double digits.

BET: Clippers -8.5

For my final bet, I'm going to hop over to the MLB. Normally, I'd do an NHL bet here, but I don't really like anything in either game tomorrow. If you want value go with the Canucks, but I think the Golden Knights are going to thrash them after losing a nailbiter in Game 5. As for the Islanders and Flyers, I'll just shrug my shoulders. Though, if I had to pick, I'd go with the Islanders since they have momentum.

But anyway, that MLB bet. I'm looking at the Diamondbacks and the Dodgers. The Diamondbacks are one of the worst offensive teams in the MLB, and they are going up against Clayton Kershaw. Meanwhile, Luke Weaver gets the start for Arizona and he hasn't been very good so far this season. Great pitcher against bad offense and a bad pitcher against a very good offense means one thing to me: an early inning blowout.

BET: Dodgers F5 -1.5 (+102)

I'll be back tomorrow morning with an episode of "On The Card" on the TRHS Sports YouTube channel. If you have any questions, reach out to me on Twitter @Phil_Wood_Jr.
